Emory's East Asian Studies Program (EASP) serves as an intellectual center connecting faculty and students from a broad range of disciplines, departments and schools, and links our East Asia-related activities with those of other universities in the region as well as the community at large.

Emory's undergraduate programs in East Asian studies are well-rounded, and include courses ranging from introductory surveys to advanced language study.  In addition to complete four-year cycles of modern Chinese and Japanese, Emory offers courses in Elementary and Intermediate Korean, and more than 40 courses on diverse aspects of East Asian studies.  EASP image

Study abroad opportunities form an integral part of our curriculum. We have an Emory sponsored program, the Chinese Studies Summer Program at Beijing Normal University, and have approved for Emory credit courses at the following universities and programs: Japan (Hokkaido International Foundation, ICU), Kansai Gaidai, Kwansei Gakuin, Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies, (Princeton in Ishikawa); China (CET Beijing, CET Harbin, CIEE Shanghai, The Beijing Institute of Asian Studies at Peking University); Korea (Yonsei University); and SIT Mongolia

The East Asian Studies Program supports an undergraduate degree (major or minor) in East Asian Studies. Students may also major and minor in Chinese or Japanese through REALC.
